We're overjoyed to bring this fresh harvest from the Mae Hong Son province of Thailand to you all for another year. Charlie Milbrodt, who started Mai Thai Coffee with his wife, has been in the thick of the organic, sustainable coffee farming movement in Thailand. This clean, washed processed coffee is the result of their years of diligent, impactful work. We're loving this balanced and smooth coffee, which is characterized by a peanut butter and almond flavor profile with a subtle, but delightful complexity.
Story Behind the Coffee:
While there is much to be said about the quality of this coffee, there is even more to be said about the story behind this coffee. The founders of Mai Thai Coffee, Charlie and Cathy Milbrodt, first traveled to Bangkok, Thailand in 1987. While in Thailand, they came upon and adopted two abandoned babies. This moment spurred them on to launch Abundant Life Foundation in Thailand, which operates to support and care for orphans and at risk children in Thailand. Upon realizing that poverty was often the root cause of children being abandoned in their community, they began pursuing economic development opportunities and began Mai Thai Coffee. The Milbrodt’s have made it their mission to grow quality, specialty coffee with the end goal of supporting their community. We’re honored to present you all with this wonderful coffee, grown and sourced by wonderful people.
