Prologue is meant to be rich in flavor with a heavy body and balanced profile, and this iteration of the prologue blend does just that. We've blended together two of our favorite medium roast coffees, washed Honduras from Finca Terrerito and washed Guatemala from Lote Colectivo. Each of these coffees has a deep chocolate forward profile with pleasant nuttiness and subtle sweetness. The best is brought out of each coffee in this balanced blend.
On Finca Terrerito, Honduras:
Adelmo "Al" Lopez is a 4th generation coffee producer and the owner of Finca Terrerito. As a multi-generational coffee producer, Al and the team at Finca T have their roots in their community in Copan, Honduras. All of their hard work and passion come together in the final product -- incredible coffee.
This coffee is clean, rich, and smooth. We're tasting a heavy portion of chocolate in this coffee with a slight nuttiness in the profile, as well. This coffee is delicious on it's own, but can certainly stand up to cream and sugar. Join us in supporting the hard and purposeful work of Al and team at Finca T!
On Farmer's Select, Guatemala:
The producers in Yepocapa have outdone themselves once again. If you've come to love our Guatemalan coffee, you have Yepocapa Coffee and their community of producers to thank. Their Farmer's Select lot is another community style lot from La Cooperativa San Pedrana, processed at the same cooperative as our most recent Guatemala (Lote Colectivo). Farmer's Select is rich and sweet, very comparable to Lote Colectivo. The main difference between the lots is the elevation at which they were grown. Farmer's Select was grown roughly 400 MASL higher than Lote Colectivo. The higher elevation allows for the cherries to ripen more slowly, which encourages sugars, aromatics, and acidity to be enhanced. We've been tasting notes of dark honey and vanilla bean in this coffee with a subtle fruit tone that we've found resembles sweet, juicy pears.
Our hope is that Prologue is as welcoming and comforting as an introduction, much like its literary definition denotes. We've selected our finest, chocolate-heavy coffees so that this blend would be warm, balanced, and welcomed by all palates.
Please Note: All coffee bean orders are roasted fresh and may take 24-48 hours before shipping.
