The Arara is a newer variety being grown in Brazil. At Rio Brilhante over a hundred different varieties are cultivated and Arara is one of the few that was separated out last harvest. It's a yellow variety with really nice acidity and cup characteristics, all while being a highly productive and hardy plant. It is resistant to leaf rust and other blights as well as being able to withstand both droughts and heavy rains. Planting such varieties will help producers as they continue to fight the challenge of climate change and unstable weather patterns.
